Yum... Rice Cereal

Last night I had rice cereal for the very first time. It was weird for me to eat from a spoon, I'm used to my bottle! I've been watching mom and dad eat and so I did very well. I only spit about half of it out and ate the rest! I had about 3 spoon-fulls in all. Once again I've proved myself to be very brave.

5 Months-Old!

Sunday was my 5 month birthday. I am getting so big and strong. I smile a lot and I'm laughing more too. I like to talk and I'm experimenting with new sounds and blowing bubbles. I like to go on walks. The other day I went on one with my mom and I was looking around with a big smile and then looking at my mom and laughing. The world is so exciting. I can lift myself up on my arms and I can roll over to the right onto my stomach. I can't roll back yet and so sometimes I get frustrated. My hair is starting to get longer, it still sticks up all over and my mom says I look like a little duckling. My personality is really starting to show, I'm a very charming and sweet little girl. My favorite book right now is Are You My Mother?? My nicknames are noodle, noodle-bug, piggles, and piglet along with a bunch more variations of those.

My First Photoshoot

Today I had my very first photoshoot. Mom was very excited for it, but I was a little shy. I did smile for a few pictures and got some with mom and dad too. But after all those flashes and everyone calling my name, I got a little overwhelmed. I think we got a few good shots in. Stay tuned for the pictures!

My First All-the-Way Roll-Over!

I've been practicing my rolling a lot recently. Until this weekend I've only been able to get over on my side. This weekend I rolled all the way over! I rolled from my back onto my side like I normally do, then when I got tired of laying there I rolled all the way over onto my tummy! I tried to lift my head up after but it was kind of hard because my arm was stuck under me. I'm getting better and stronger everyday! Soon I'll be rolling and crawling all over the place and mom and dad are going to have to chase me! Stayed tuned for more of my adventures!

I like to suck my thumb!

I like to eat dresses and blankets, and recently I've discovered my hands! I like to suck on my hands and my thumb when I'm getting tired or trying to go to sleep. I'm really good at soothing myself this way.

Laughing, Rolling, Sitting

Yesterday was a great day. I hung out with my nanny Victoria all day and then played with Mom at night. First, daddy came home from work and we shared a breakfast burrito. The pediatrician said I could start eating cereal and dad thought a burrito would make a great first breakfast!

Then I read, sang songs, and played under my jungle gym. I really like to lay on the floor and look up at my toys. I've recently discovered my feet and like to play with them too.

After my play time we got down to business and I did my exercises. I did push ups and sit ups. What a work out! I'm getting a lot stronger but they still call me the noodle!

Then I practiced rolling over. I can only get half way around but I'm practicing and soon I'll be rolling all over the place!

Sleeping Through the Night

The newest and most exciting news is that this past weekend I slept through the night three nights in a row!! I woke up very hungry in the morning. Mommy was so excited that I'm sleeping so well! I am such a good baby.

This is a picture of me with my nanny. Her name is Victoria. We spend a lot of time together. We like to read, sing, play, dance, and go for walks together.

This is me in my stroller all ready to go for a walk. We go for a walk every day. I usually sleep through it but before I fall asleep I like to listen to birds chirp and dogs bark. And I like to feel the wind tickle my face.

The Newest News in the Life of Katie

I've been growing so much and learning how to do all kinds of new things.

Recently, I started swinging in my swing. I like it so much that one time I stayed in it for 30 minutes!

I also started wearing a bib on days when I'm extra drooly. It keeps my clothes from getting soggy.

I held my bottle by myself for the first time on Tuesday. I had a hard time keeping it in my mouth, but we're taking baby steps. I'm getting so strong!

And I still love to eat blankets!

Katie the Brave

Today I went to the Pediatrician's office for my 4-month check-up. I was so brave. I was even braver than mom. She was so scared! I got two shots, one in each leg. (You can see my matching purple bandaids in the picture.) I slept on the way home and then I was so happy and smiley you never would have guessed that I'd been turned into a baby pin cushion. The doctor said I'm in the 50th percentile for weight, and I'm very healthy.

A Weekend with Family

This past weekend I went to visit my Great Grandma who lives in Jacksonville, Florida. She's my mom's grandma. This was my first time meeting her. I also met my second cousin Sophie. I had lots of fun and I was so good in the car on the way there. Here are some pictures from my trip.
